Very good summary and history, though I will disagree with you on the "never" portion. Missouri, like all schools, can "get lucky" with a hire, see Roy Williams at ku. There are several schools that are powers now that weren't too long ago. Unless the Walmarters ante up, the I agree with your implication that we won't go for a high profile hire, but there are mid major and "hot assistants" that MU can luck into that could its fortunes around

The odds are against that, but it's hardly an impossibility, even with the incompetence of the ADs we have suffered thru for decades.
