5, 7, even 10 years without playing each other. The handful of selected rivalries have always been more important than a round robin in the SEC.
LSU and Vandy didn't play for 19 years at one point. Even after the 12-team SEC where playing everybody every 4 years was super easy, LSU-Vandy had two dry spells of 5 years and one of 7 years.
I find it quite interesting about how some SEC people are very hung up on playing everybody with a certain frequency when it has not been a point of focus in the history of the league.
I'm not saying playing everybody on a more frequent schedule is not something we should strive for, but just noting the dichotomy here.
