with deriving conclusions based purely on your own experiences? This is a huge part of the problem whereby you think you get it all because you saw something that was in line with a clear presumption you already had.

Margins for restaurants are 3 to 6%. When people don't show up consistently, restaurants really struggle particularly with food costs, since they can't rely on their usual ordering portions because business is inconsistent. And it is an absolutely brutally competitive business as well. What's the latest and greatest today is old news tomorrow.

So zero restrictions on restaurants during Covid has not been the salve you apparently think it was...in areas with no restrictions plenty of restaurants still went out of business.
