an analogy is not a reasonable analogy in this case.

If a policeman came up to my door and said that I was under arrest I would not shoot him whether I thought they were arresting the wrong person or whether I knew that I had committed some crime.

If you were some stranger that was sneaking around my house at night stalking me I would probably call the police on you, but if I thought my life or the lives of my family were in danger and shooting you was the only reasonable way to defend myself in that situation, sure I would shoot you.
