you don't understand business:
Kroger has close to 2800 stores. That means their quarterly profit breaks down to about $280,000 per store.
Let's say each store needs 30 employees per hour for 18 hour days. That's $150 more in wages per hour, and $2,700 more in total wages per day. For an entire quarter, this would be $246,000 more in wages. This doesn't factor in payroll, FICA, and any employer contributions based on wages.
