That is probably the biggest failure of this system. Students were online for classes and the entire digital world was one click away. The teachers lacked the ability to monitor that and in most cases, parents were not around to supervise.
I have zero doubt that is the problem my daughter had. In class, I have the ability to monitor my students and address off-task behavior. For most kids, that is all it takes to keep them on task in class. But how many kids can resist those same temptations when there is no one there to monitor them? How many adults for that matter?
