and however you cut it, with all the issues noted, yesterday was a good sign for the rest of the season. Losing by 3 on the road to the #10 team was very encouraging. We could have gotten blown out, losing 45-34 at half, but we never gave up, played hard until the end, and outscored them 54-46 in the second half.
You can easily imagine a different result if Williams doesn’t get in foul trouble, we cut down on a few turnovers, Frank hits just 1 or 2 more 3 point shots, etc.
We showed we can compete with a top 25 team, on the road no less, even not playing our best up and down the lineup. The potential is there, much more than I thought based on the previous 6 games.
Now it’s time to start salvaging the season, with games coming up @ Auburn, @ Ole Miss, and LSU at home. We need to go 3-0 in these games if we are going to have any chance for even a .500 season, much less be in the hunt for an at large bid.
