I don't know if by "don't work" you mean that they fail to PREVENT transmission of the virus. In that case, you are right. They do not prevent it. But they sure as **** lower the rate of the transmission. You have a choice of two rooms to pass through - one giving you a 30% chance of catching a virus that may cause great sickness or even the death of a loved one or one you encounter; the other gives you a 5% chance of same.
Why do you fight so hard about something as simple as the donning of cloth mask for brief periods. Your right is adolescent.
