It was 1 single two hour boat ride that Fred Dehner, the general manager of Tan Tar A Resort at the Lake of the Ozarks, arranged for 5 current players to accompany his wife on without charging them for riding on his boat. During the afternoon Dehner paid for the five men's basketball student-athletes, and one of their mother and his two sisters meals. Its not like there was something nefarious and program changing going on.
The booster should have known better through compliance education and oversight. I don't think any of that ever rises to a coaches actual responsibility, but yes they are frequently held accountable for it and were in that particular instance. But it certainly doesn't qualify as sleazy things our staff was involved in.
