history. But FDR worked to pull this country out of a depression and guided the nation through the worst war in world history with fighting on two fronts. He was president for 13 years. Braxton Bragg and John Bell Hood are two generals, on the other hand, that would be lost forever to history had they not participated in a rebellion with the purpose of keeping 3.5 million people enslaved. Why would you want to honor either of these men with a military base? On top of that, Bragg (Fort Bragg) was at best a mediocre general, Hood (Fort Hood) was an absolute disaster as a general. Their cause was absolutely offensive to many and their generalship was not really all that deserving either.
