they clear the area. I have worked 4-5 different presidential visits through the years. The Secret Service clears the area. While I wasn't a part of it, I remember when Reagan visited Columbia in the 1980's and drove in from Columbia Regional. They shut down and cleared all kinds of things.

This is a preposterous point of contention.
