but the narrative that he was out for morning jog and randomly happened upon armed racist rednecks is simply wrong and disingenuous and doesn't help the situation at all.
I think the idea that, when you frequently carry a firearm, almost all conflicts you get into are armed conflicts is appropriate here. It's quite possible that he was snooping around a house, maybe had been before (if you believe their accounts), left the scene, they followed him and tried to stop him, he resisted or retaliated, the guns came out and the rest is history.
That isn't smart on anyone's part but it isn't the same as a cold-blooded murder of an innocent "jogger" in broad daylight.
