Yes, the schools are not supposed to do "pay for play," but the smart ones will say - come to our school, we'll set you up with the best marketing people in the business, look at this guy we had last year that made a million bucks!
You also wonder how distracting it will be to players who get those paid endorsements, spending more time posting social media photos, doing publicity appearances, etc.
