When the rumblings got loud about him needing to fire coaches or risk losing his job, he risked losing his job.
Then AD Mike Alden stayed the course with Pinkel when the voices were loud and boy were they loud. He came out smelling like roses on the other side.
I'm not advocating keeping terrible coaches around forever, but burn and churn coaches will never get success at Mizzou.
We have to stick through down seasons, even down 3-4 seasons, so they can build long term relationships with junior high kids.
