Mizzou was a solid program up til the late 70s and went down hill till 2000. I saw the change that GP was bringing to the program and defended him for it when others called for his head. And my bar is based on that.
Continued improvement, taking care of the little things, gets you to the big things. Winning brings better talent, better talent brings winning. So forward progress, a step back is okay as long as you keep moving forward. Continued success changes the face of the program, for it's supporters and outsiders as well.
The problem with some Missouri fans is that they're brought up to accept what they have. By saying we're mediocre and we should be happy with the good seasons, I think for many it's a reflection of what they have going at home. I decided to quit that **** back in 2010 and we were moving up and there were still naysayers.
I've enjoyed your insights (even if your motivation is for us to take down GA, TN, and Fl :) )
