The official Great Recession lasted 27 months. A normal recession the last 70 years is 11 months.
It was long and it was deep.. it seemed at points there would be no turning back. Yet, we survived. In fact, many great companies sprouted in response. The economic growth we’ve seen since has been slow, but it’s been long. In fact it’s still going ... GDP growth has dwarfed our “highs” in 2007.
Asset values will inevitably correct again .. there will be another recession .. for it to happen in 2020 we would have to be there now. There is arguably a manufacturing recession, but our service sector is booming.
Govt debt worries me but I look around the world and see worse! Gold? Not unless we go back to the gold standard. Crypto currency? Decade a way, at least.
