making a giant failed leap in logic.

I don't believe Dershowitz, because I have no evidence that he is telling the truth. He is also feeding numerous unproven conspiracy theories, which a lot of righties want to believe but also have no basis in fact. So perhaps you want to believe Dershowitz. I get that. But I'm not doing so, because he hasn't provided evidence, and what he's saying doesn't really make any sense.
