Successful coaches tend to mimic what they have seen before

especially if those programs were having great success. It is no surprise that Drink would hire coaches with ties to Auburn or that those coaches would mimic what worked at Auburn.
Contrast this to Ed Orgeron. As a first year head coach at Ole Miss he made all kinds of mistakes and was fired. Later, when he was on staff at Southern Cal he was mentored by Pete Carroll who imparted on him the importance of paying attention to what works and then repeating it. He paid attention.
At LSU the practice schedules, names, terminologies coaching philosophies are all mimicked after Southern Cal down to the last detail like 'one heartbeat, one team'. From Ed's time with the New Orleans Saints after Southern Cal LSU now employs the Saints passing concepts and plays.
I expect a lot of the same things to occur with Drink. Give credit to to the man. He is not a slow learner and I expect a lot of rookie mistakes Odom made will not be repeated at Missouri.
I also do not think it a bad thing that the Missouri program will closely mimic the Auburn program.
