they are "something given or received in exchange for something else" according to merriam webster.
And for you cynics, there is no other definition that assumes a sinister motive or act.
Socialists believe that foreign aid is a RIGHT, probably in the constitution right next to abortion that our founders included, that the united states give our friends and allies and even our adversaries and enemies money or aid or assistance or help in whatever amount they need without question and without questions. And without anything in return.
Why?
I've posted before that foreign aid budgets always start with the amount of money we gave away the year before and then calculate how much more they need this year.
Why?
Why is it wrong to assume that friends, allies, adversaries and enemies actually do something for us, in exchange for our generosity? The things exchanged don't even have to be of equal value. But i dunno, maybe the diaper head leaders in iran could politely ask their muzz scum citizens not to burn the american flag in tehran.
That of course was deemed unnecessary by the muzz sympathizer and black marxist president of the united states who delivered hundreds of millions of dollars in various currencies in the dead of night to the tehran airport on a pallet.
Buying a car exchanges a quid for a quo. Cash for a car. MYGOD, call the cops, hold hearings, investigate and of course impeach the m'fer.
When the transaction is legal and authorized why the furor?
However, if one party demands illegal acts by one party in exchange for favorable treatment by another, that is called bribery or extortion. That is illegal, even when done by the vice president of the united states.
No one is above the law, we have been told by the media and the socialists.
I don't know if there was a quid and a quo with trump and ukraine or not. And neither do you so save your keystrokes and our time. But if trump said that the aid you want from us is contingent upon your helping us find corruption in our government and likely in yours as well...
WHAT THE FLICK IS WRONG WITH THAT?
Do countries help each other find, arrest and capture criminals? Is that ok with everyone?
Or is running for president an inoculation against any charge, insinuation or god forbid, investigation into corruption even after the alleged corrupt politician bragged about it in an open forum and was recorded doing so?
Libs, idiots and The Idiot, save your pithy, "lol" or "you're and idiot" replies. By now everyone realizes that you are incapable of a coherent response and unwilling to learn how to provide one.
To libs on the board, the questions here were rhetorical.
Thoughtful people are welcome to respond.
