Title IX violations? The investigation took so long that recruiting was being affected on Mizzou's end and Coach R's job opportunities were closing for this next year.

The university found nothing credible to fire him over and will therefore pay a settlement. The only reason the case wouldn't be settled is if Coach R. wants the opportunity to publicly clear his name and still get the money owed to him.
