Through hikers do it all the time.

30 mile days on trail, carrying packs is pretty common for through hikers. No, they don't do it every day for 1000 miles but some may do it close to 50% of their days for even longer treks like the PCT or CDT...the AT is rougher and tougher.
But, it may not be too difficult to say that doing it on a road instead of mountain trail makes doing it daily pretty feasible...for someone who has any business attempting it as I noted below.
A slow walk is 20 minutes per mile, and 15 is a reasonable pace...4 miles per hour. Hike 10 hours with breaks, and you can get to 30 and still have a good amount of sleep.
Also, under these circumstances, I'd think a person would carry a minimal pack and coordinate some sort of support as opposed to carrying a full backpack as a through hiker would. Making their day easier yet.
