He's misrepresenting Brown's potential

Jabari Brown, like Jontay, just didn't have high end athleticism.

What he did possess was an elite skill: shooting.

The rest of his game wasn't gonna improve enough to where he was going to get drafted. You can't just magically be a better athlete. So he took a shot with his one NBA level skill.

This is the disconnect people have between who benefits from returning. You have to have something that is translatable to the NBA that can improve by returning. Usually that means adding a skill like improved shooting range.

But a lot of players have certain limitations that will hold them back no matter what. Jontay, even healthy, is never gonna be a lottery pick because of his athleticism, so any draft pick is a good one for him. It's unfortunate he did come back, because he was given a 1st round grade last year. He hurt his pro chances by returning.
