Texas will decide their long term home, which will create 4 major conferences (for football that would make an 8 team playoff with each conf championship game being the 1st round). That will make the NCAA irrelevant, and those 4 major conferences will re-write rules that are modern/enforceable/make sense. Hopefully the G-League is established enough at that point that the players who have no interest in college stop going there.

That would mean the end of the NCAA tournament, and likely a large gap for the programs that typically create the excitement of march madness with their upsets by not being in the 4 major conferences. So what will emerge will certainly be something different.
