The phrase "went out of his way" isn't factual, is opinion, unsupported at that. It inaccurately describes Crockett's post and doesn't acknowledge that it was Huepel that recruited Crockett to MU and therefore it was appropriate for Crockett to thank him.

It's unfortunate that both the Star and PD are now leaking opinion into news stories on a regular basis but this is the New Journalism.
