1. We were not in a state of war with Japan at the time of Pearl Harbor, we were when we nuked them.
That's what pickle's OP addresses. Also, "being in a state of war" doesn't give carte blanche rights to bomb whole cities. Or at least, it shouldn't.
2. We gave Japan fair warning and a chance to surrender before nuking, they did not with Pearl Harbor.
Well, in this case, I suppose Israel cannot complain if they are ever nuked by one of their "foes".
