Today, to me anyway, was the first salvo of the Cardinals new strategy in the new baseball economy. Take a chance on a guy that has a better chance, possibly, to re-up and play for the year. That's not a bad play with all the young pitching we have. If the pitching comes together as expected, and we've already had a few pieces prove they are the future, we're gold with a very good offense.

Harper is just a shiny object.
