and Cards were in the playoff race until the end. That's an odd way of showing you don't believe in someone.

Yadi's backup is important. He's getting up there in age. Even if he stays healthy, he needs a lot of days off, and he hasn't been staying healthy.

That's 3 players and a compensation pick for a one year contract. Not sure how you could disagree. That's a haul.
