before Saban where Alabama wasn't very good. However, Alabama residents have zero outside of 'Bama and Auburn. Those fans will show up for mediocrity. We're still trying to resurrect from the 3 seasons prior to this. In recent years when the Royals and Cards were both playoff teams and with the Chiefs and Rams at the time, other options than watching crappy college football.

I remember as a kid going to Chiefs games in the 70s and 80s when it was like a HS stadium, attendance-wise. Have to win.
