Education salaries are primarily funded by local property taxes in Missouri.

Those vary widely.



Smaller districts north of the river in KC pay $15000 less than say your affluent Park Hill or Liberty Districts for the same job.

Lawson or Plattsburg even less.

Go up to Eagleville and see what a real rural district pays.
