largest fan bases and richest boosters, like Texas and Ohio State, would be able to buy players through endorsements, autographs, merchandise sales, etc.
They would have an even bigger recruiting advantage than they already have. In fact, it would be nearly impossible to win recruiting battles against those schools. Don't you understand that?
If pay-for-play is allowed, it would have to be limited in such a way that powerhouse schools like Texas and Ohio State (and its fans/boosters) cannot compensate its players more than smaller schools like Purdue and Kansas State.
