In 2008, Memphis collapsed down the stretch of the NCAA title game. Thus when it was determined they used an ineligible player they vacated their entire 2007-08 season. Because ku was the beneficiary of that collapse, when it was determined they used two ineligible players they did not have any repercussions.

The NCAA does a terrible job enforcing the sport, particularly with any consistency.
