why would a kid say there's "no chance he would go to MU"?

Why "no chance"?

Was that when MU still carried the stink of last year?

Or does mean a kid wants something from MU that MU isn't prepared to provide?

Or is it simply that a kid is 100% set on going out-of-state to see the world?
