This concept was liked and supported this spring by the two head coaches of the largest crop of D1 talent in the city...and then Dave Matter said this today in his chat:
"I wouldn't say Missouri can't recruit the best players in St. Louis....I also still subscribe to the belief that St. Louis players don't identify with the state pride angle that Odom tried to sell. St. Louis kids are from St. Louis, not Missouri. There is not a natural allegiance to the state school, which wipes out any sense of a home-field advantage.

I am a head coach in STL. I have a staff full of former stl head coaches, and I am the only MU supporter and it's probably because I'm from SWMO. This is an issue in the city for mizzou, no doubt about it going on my 5th year as a HC on the east side.
