There is already a 'virtual wall' that is monitored constantly. Thats why they dug tunnels to begin with. Drones, cameras, etc are monitoring as we type.

A wall will not do what you think it will do, was his point. And it will cost more than the estimations. And it wont be continuous. So whats the point?
