Would NBA teams take a player without a "doctor's note"

stating exactly what the player had done?

I know neither the player or doctor would have to give that info if they didn't want to, but I think NBA teams would find that highly suspicious.

My point being I think it'd be difficult for them to lie to the NBA about this, and thus find it hard to believe they'd lie to everyone else about it.
