Sure, it would be great to have all Missouri players play on both sides of the ball. Putting them on a pedestal because they are Missourians is a mistake. It creates a sense of entitlement and uniqueness that is detrimental to the player and ultimately to the team. Other state schools have a long history of in-state HS player vying to play for them and only so many spots being available. In Missouri we've flipped the situation and it's the school that should be lucky that they come and play for the school. Winning is recruiting, recruiting is winning. So put together a winning team, a team that has national reputation, and you'll have in-state kids wanting to play for the school and not the school courting in-state players because they're "special".
