Why would a kid who wants to compete at the highest level

If a kid is good enough and wants to compete at the highest level, i.e. the CFP, chose Mizzou over programs that have a real chance to make the CFP, compete on the biggest stage, play for a true blue blood program?
Or how many posters on this board would choose Mizzou over Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford, etc if they had been offered a full ride to those schools?
