We take measures to combat cancer. We take lots of measures to combat auto accidents. We take many measures to combat crime and violent shootings.

We take drastic measures to prevent outbreaks of disease, including if it were something deadly like cancer or AIDS. We also do that to prevent massive car pileups on our road grids. This is now a yearly thing. Is it wrong to want stronger measures that might decrease the odds of mass shootings with dozens of casualties?
