Nobody was happy with the way it went.

But let's say it goes the other way: Wolfe refuses to resign, and Pinkel refuses to support his players and revokes the scholarships of those striking.

How does that play out?

* Mizzou plays its "white out" against BYU with essentially an all-white lineup except for a few black players who choose not to join in with team leaders. Mizzou is now a national headline for being the first college football team since the 1960s to field a segregated lineup of sorts.

* Black players across the country immediately shun Mizzou and Pinkel as a program and opposing coaching staffs tell players not to sign with that racist school and program at Mizzou. Mizzou football falls off the map back to 1980s level irrelevance.

* Meanwhile, the campus protests only intensify in the face of the standoff between Wolfe and BLM. DeRay McKesson and hundreds of other professional protestors, who had already started coming to Columbia, arrive in full force droves to create the mass media spectacle they wanted.

* The protestors' dream of "bringing Ferguson to Columbia" starts to come to fruition. Amid the ever escalating campus and city panic as the Mizzou student body president continues to spread more false alarms and drama, some students or protestors or cops or somebody does something stupid (it was only a matter of time before that would happen) that results in an actual violent confrontation.

* Now the national headline is "Violence amid racial protests in Columbia." This spurs more protests and the streets of CoMo start to build into a frenzied mob scene. Still, Wolfe refuses to resign or give in to the demands, because doing so would be a "miserable management fiasco." A couple of campus and downtown buildings get set on fire. All hell is breaking loose.

* Finally, as the semester ends, the protests also end. Enrollment at Mizzou plummets, as whites and other non-black races refuse to go there because the city is completely unsafe and a war zone now, and blacks refuse to go there because they view the leadership as racist and unwilling to listen to what they have to say.

* Instead of falling to 4,000, enrollment for 2016 and 2017 plummets to 2,000 or so. Even diehard Mizzou supporters just don't want to send their kids into a war zone. The Legislature slashes Mizzou funding exponentially more than it had before, Mizzou cuts jobs in half, and the university and the CoMo economy plummet.

Yay!
