people they never held, so I'm not going to address that kind of nonsense. I do agree you are perpetually confused.
As a player his 24.1 point scoring average in 1956 ranks as the fourth-best figure in school history. Stewart's career total of 1,112 points ranks 19th at MU despite only playing 3 years of varsity, with 15 of those who rank ahead of him having played for him during his coaching tenure.
Norm is in the College Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach, retired with the 7th most wins in D1 history, won eight Big Eight Conference championships and six conference tournament titles, was named the All Time Conference Coach of the Big 8 Era, and was twice the National Coach of the Year (1982 and 1994). He started Coaches for Cancer and continues to work for that cause.
He is certainly deserving of a statue to represent and celebrate his contributions to MU basketball.
