A few things, Big Ray2 --
First, you are correct in saying there was nothing 'shady' about 'ol mizzou hiring Michael Porter, Sr. to their coaching staff. (With a subsequent LOI from the son.) But the pious contempt, lordly disdain, sanctimonious derision, self-righteous scorn, smug moral outrage, high-toned indignation and haughty repugnance we would have seen on here if WE had hired him to a position on OUR team's staff would, as you are no doubt aware, have been totally justified.
This, of course, would be analogous to going on probation. When 'ol mizzou goes on probation (as they have three times since 1990) it is NOT 'cheating. It IS, as you know, when it happens to us, however. Or anyone else.
(And as brother FIJI pointed out in his subsequent posts on this thread, no matter how many times, no matter how many ways, we 'cheat', it is ALWAYS ignored and unpunished by the NCAA.)
Also, with regard to 2008, whereas we certainly did 'cheat' (we do all the time, of course, so this would not have been in any way unusual) please remember that we did NOT 'win' the national title that year. As anyone on Tigerboard will tell you, it was 'choked away' by Memphis. Very important difference.
And finally, you referenced our win over Memphis as our "3rd mythical championship". This is NOT accurate either. As Diamond Dave will tell you, we have only won ONE national title in the last 30 years. Please check your facts before posting again.
Thanks,
Buck
