1. Now we have a huge hole to fill in our 2018 recruiting class at the pitcher position, and very little time to fill it, as there are only about 4 months now before that class signs their LOIs.
2. And there is now one more talking point out there for the elite teams we go up against in recruiting, saying that if you are a top rated pitcher, Mizzou is not a welcoming place for you to go. Fair or not, Williams bailing just months before signing her LOI, right after Conrad left after just one year, and right after Lowary and Finucane also transferred, is adding to a very negative narrative about EE and the program.
Replacing Williams spot in the 2018 recruiting class is likely critical to the long term fortunes of Mizzou over the next 4-5 years.
