We will have no idea if we will have any SEC caliber pitchers on the roster until the 2018 season starts in February 2018. And by then the ship will have already sailed on the 2018-19 class, which signs their LOIs in early November 2017.
Maybe Rice, or Daniel, or a second transfer, or hopefully 2 of those 3, will prove to be SEC caliber talent, but we won't know that from playing the awful fall exhibition teams EE schedules. So it is imperative that EE replace Williams right away with the best pitcher still available (and there aren't that many at this late point), for the 2019 class. Because with the uncertainty of high school stars becoming studs in college, we can't afford to have a single class anymore that does not have at least one stud pitching recruit in it.
