underachieving. 5th in SEC? Probably should have been better. Consecutive first game losses in NCAA tourney? Unacceptable for the level of talent. I understand there were other things going on. HCFFH suffered from some serious bad luck (injuries in B12 Championship, injuries to Bowers, Dixon, Flip being brain-dead every other night it seemed, etc). He also brought some things on himself; the mess at Miami including what he did or didn't know (as well as how it was discussed privately with Alden), the revolving door of his rosters, letting Ernie Nestor, his only true tactician, go in lieu of more primary recruiters (a point you made more than once, Fiji), and a weird run of off the court player incidents.
Keeping Haith from jumping to Tulsa (if possible) most likely would have prevented us from taking the free fall in regard to on the court success, but it is also a reach in my opinion to think that he would have the program today where we all believe it needs to be. While a different scenario, has he raised or lowered the program level in his time at Tulsa?
I think he is a fine coach and a better person than what transpired at Mizzou. He obviously was the correct person to handle the aftermath of Mike Anderson's departure. I will respect that Kim English know much more about all things Mizzou hoops that I do, and he certainly hold Haith in high regards. But I will also maintain that the program was steadily trending downward as his tenure continued.
