You don't get it. Parents play a critical role in recruiting

and often times are the ones who make the decision for their kid. That's why recruiting is about appealing to the player and to his parents.
In this case, it doesn't really matter where MPS wanted to play, because his dad was calling the shots. Recruiting MPJ was, essentially, recruiting his father.
Porter Sr. wanted nothing to do with Kim Anderson, which is why he left CoMo for UW when Kim was hired, and returned when he was fired. MPJ followed him.
You think you had insight into the process but you didn't... when Porter Sr. accepted the job at UW, everyone with any common sense at all knew that MPJ would follow him. Anyone who debated whether or not MPJ would follow was either clueless or just holding false hope.
Long story short, the recruitment of MPJ was the recruitment of his father, and therefore all that mattered is where Porter Sr. wanted MPJ to play... it was never going to be MU while Kim was here. That's a fact.
