1. School refuses to honor NLOI: student is owed a scholarship if they qualify. Student can go elsewhere (but not sign an NLOI) with no restrictions.
2. NCAA finds school guilty or recruiting infractions specific to that athlete: NLOI is null and void, no penalties, no obligations.
3. Student requests release, school has 30 days to respond
A. School Denies or does not respond: NLOI obligations and penalties remain in place.
B. School does not grant release but lifts recruiting restrictions making student free to be recruited. Student would have to re-request release if they want to go elsewhere.
C. School grants full release. No restrictions allowed.
