D2 vs. D3, three times as long at her previous school = wash

If she was so great, why wasn't she plucked to a top job earlier? May be outstanding but you have to admit there's a huge unknown there. See the Kreklow hubby/wife team running MU VB. Both have admitted they've had to grow on the job at the higher level & they're certainly much better in their roles today than they were their first few years. It's not as if she's jumping from Quincy to the Illini either.

I don't see the insult in the comparison. Of course, DFW would say she's taking a tremendous step down moving from the greatest city in the world to C-U. I don't even want to know what he'd say about that place as a next move. Then again, he may well be legitimately freaking insane (I'm on the record with my beliefs).


Edit: for the record (& considering where the lady Illini have been) I'd be on-board with the hire. I simply don't believe it's wrong to contrast it to the KA HIRE...judging it at the time of his hire & not with the clarity of hindsight. Another "for the record," I didn't think he'd ever be or should be hired. Some of the talented post-searchers are welcome to research...I don't care enough about it. Alden didn't want to hire him & finally got overruled by curators wanting to play AD.
