knew there was no way to get that through congress. But he also knew enough about our system to understand that any foot in the door would be a very good first step towards single payer.
Just look at the GOP sheep today. They sent multiple bills through congress to repeal Obamacare when they knew it could not happen but now that they have the power to repeal it they are backing off and attempting to fix it.
They are attempting to set the leg on a broken down nag instead of shooting the damned thing and getting a new horse.
