But a weak SEC does suit him. He's got a largely freshman team that needs time to mature so it's not great to get saddled with a lot of losses in conference because it would kill his tourney seed. That said, he needs a strong conference SOS because his big non conference games happen when his team hasn't exactly gelled and those are games he is likely go lose as he did this year. So he does need a few impressive conference wins.
