In my opinion, Sterk can go one of 3 ways

1) Bring in a quality person and coach to continue on in Kim's direction.
2) Bring in a slimeball and risk probation, or, potentially, even a mass defection of donors from the program like happened to football in the late '70's - not that Warren Powers was a slimeball, it's just that Al Onofrio was very respected and liked.
3) Allow Kim to finish out his contract, coach his guys as juniors and seniors.
#2 and #3 would obviously upset large factions of the fan
base. But #1 may not be possible to do. Good luck with this one, Sterk old buddy.
